Nicholas Jon Yelloly (born 3 December 1990) is a British racing driver, who competed in several races of the 2015 FIA GP2 Series with Hilmer Motorsport.[1] A BMW Motorsport factory driver, Yelloly would move into racing Porsches after failing to secure a full time seat in GP2, before moving into Endurance racing in 2018.[2]

Background[]

Yelloly began his racing career in karting at the age of fourteen, racing in various series until his eighteenth birthday.[2] The winter of 2008 saw the Brit move into the Formula Renault UK Winter Series, finishing his maiden season in fourteenth.[2] Yelloly duly switched to the full FR UK series in 2009, claiming nineteenth in that Championship.[2]

A Slow Burn[]

Yelloly remained in FR UK for 2010, having finished as runner-up in the Winter Series at the end of 2009.[2] Seventh in the full UK Series saw Yelloly secure a full season seat in the GP3 Series for 2011, although he would only manage one podium finish.[2] Instead, Yelloly would find more joy in the Formula Renault 3.5 Series that season, claiming fourteenth in the Championship despite only attending six races.[2]

Unsurprisingly Yelloly would stay in FR 3.5 for 2012, going on to claim fifth in the Championship with two wins.[2] A return to GP3 followed in 2013, with the Brit improving to seventh in the Championship to secure a third season in 2014.[2] 2014 saw Yelloly finally claim a race win in GP3, although a title bid failed to materialise to leave the Brit in sixth.[2]

GP2 Series History[]

Post GP2 Series Career[]

Yelloly secured a seat in the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany for 2016, finishing sixth in his first season in the series.[2] 2017 saw Yelloly challenge for the German title, ultimately finishing runner-up, a feat which he would repeat in 2018.[2] For 2019 Yelloly would sign a deal with BMW Motorsport to become one of their factory drivers, and was duly dispatched to the China GT Series to represent the Bavarian squad.[2]
